The problem was though where could the procure the vast quantity of live ants they needed? Now thats a big problem if you have an ant farm but do not have enough ants to supply your customers with live ants.

Being the crafty guys they were they devised another plan.  They went to the same newspaper and placed a classified add looking for ant pickers for one cent an ant.  It took a while sifting through the riff raff of people who responded but they came up with a pretty good lead from this by a gentleman named Kenneth Gidney to pick live ants that they could offer for sale. The Gidney family continued to provide ants to Uncle Milton Industries for the next 30 years.
